Box Tops & Soup Labels
McCarthy/Teszler is now collecting General Mills Box Tops for Education and Campbells Soup Labels. The money earned from these will be applied to our playground/walking trail fund and used for instructional materials for the classroom. Please help us collect these box tops and labels and encourage your family members to do the same. We will have scheduled turn-in dates before the end of the year.

Mission Statement:
The McCarthy/Teszler school programs, with active involvement of home, community, and Spartanburg County School Districts, will provide a unique educational environment for students with special needs that assure the development of knowledge and skills necessary to meet present and future challenges.

The Principal's Corner

Greetings to you from McCarthy/Teszler School,

This school year has been an exciting time for students and staff at McCarthy/Teszler School. We have had many special events and numerous are planned for the second half of the year. We welcome and encourage our parents active involvement with their child's educational program in our school.  We are always looking for great people to support our initiatives and make our school an enriching and growing experience for all students. Come be a part of that excitement.
We hope that you find the information on our web page useful. As we grow and develop this tool, we welcome your suggestions for ways to keep you abreast of our program and services. Please take an opportunity to visit the class page of your child.  If you have an e-mail address, make sure you share it with your child's classroom teacher to enhance communication between home and school.  It is a pleasure serving our students and families and we look forward to working together collaboratively to enhance the education of the children we all love.
Please feel free to call me at anytime with concerns or questions. We are all here to serve you and your child in the best way possible.

From the Teacher of the Year

My name is Toni Finch and I teach Music at McCarthy-Teszler School. I am a Music Education graduate of Newberry College with certification in levels K-12. Previously, I taught in District 6 on the junior high and middle school levels. Having finished my 11th year at McCarthy-Teszler, I was honored to be selected as Teacher of the Year.
A general goal for all my students is to enlarge their capacity to enjoy music, and ultimately gain a positive concept of themselves. In addition, focus is placed on reinforcement of academic, motor, communication and social/emotional skills, through participation in musical activities.  Music is truly a universal language and a great tool to motivate, excite, and encourage learning and developmental growth. Experience has taught me that educational achievements are the results of great expectations.
